FWIW I havn't had either of these problems with Netscape.

Netscape 4.51 was stalling quite a bit on large pages and I upgraded to
4.6 and the stalls went away. No noticeable memory leaks and no crashes
(up for days). Just upgraded to 4.61 so no real history there yet.

System is a P II 300 with Viper 330 and 128Meg of memory. Kernel is
2.0.36 compiled for p-6 archetecture. Fvwm95 wm. No sound, no
plug-ins.

A little inaccracy sometimes saves a ton of explanation.
