Hello SuSE folks!
I connected Win NT Server and Linux SuSE 6.1 boxes over the Ethernet.
Linux box has the permanent dedicated connection ppp0 to my ISP with static
IP address.
Now I want to be able to browse Internet from Win NT computer and receive
mail on it.
I set in /etc/route.conf
# Destination Gateway Netmask
Device
192.168.1.1 192.168.1.100 255.255.255.255 eth0
#(NT box IP addr) (Linux box IP addr)
(Ethernet card)
My setting in /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost
My Static IP mydomain.com mydomain
192.168.1.100 linux.mydomain.com linux
192.168.1.1 winnt.mydomain.com winnt
However this approach doesn't work.
I can reach winnt host from linux box but I can't reach linux box from
winnt computer and I can't browse the Internet from winnt box.
Could somebody tell me what I was doing wrong.
What conception in connection winnt and linux boxes I misunderstood?
Thank you in advance
Alex
