Maybe it is endemic in the model. Certainly many users of FreeBSD think
so; the main reason I see to use FreeBSD over Linux is the stability of
the versions.

I'm hoping beyond hope that they don't represent SuSE's official stance.
But evidence shows otherwise.
My thinking is that Red Hat has resolved this; I don't see the problem
discussed much specifically about Red Hat. Wasn't the whole purpose of
Red Hat 5.2 to fix problems in 5.1? Yet it was still a separate
product.
