I joined this list because of a sincere interest in reviewing SuSE
Linux. This interest was at least partially nurtured because I find
that the distribution I've been using, Red Hat, appears to be straying
quite a bit from what I perceive to be Linux roots; in fact, even Linus'
aims. I have already apologized (tonight, in a previous post) for my
misperceptions.

I have tried to be professional, and I really don't believe I've made
any personal attacks.

For what it's worth, I've also telephoned SuSE technical support,
managed to get through on the first try even though SuSE has had some
serious problems with phone installations at the new location, and have
gotten some very good responses to my concerns. So my evaluation
continues.

I've purchased my original copy of SuSE Linux, which hopefully supports
SuSE at least in some small way, and I believe I've made clear my
willingness to continue to support the company financially with
purchases should we decide to continue using the product.

I shall either become a satisfied SuSE Linux user, in which case I would
hope my concerns would be either mainstream or at least defensible, or I
shall disappear from the list; I don't have time to stay on lists
gratuitously.

I hope my interest in, and evaluation of, SuSE Linux justifies my
presence on this list. If it doesn't, then neither the list, nor SuSE
Linux, is for me.

I do apologize for any disrespect I may have shown any of you.

Thank you.

Jeff
