and what does the group think about this mess: gpp is installed but seemingly lost! Here's the disastrous ending:

But check this out:

bash-2.02# locate  crtbegin.o
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i486-linux/2.7.2.3/crtbegin.o

o it's somewhere...
