Hi everyone, I need your help on one problem.

I used to connect to the Internet using Dial Up Networking in Win98,
checking the option "Bring up terminal window after connecting".
That is in a terminal window I give my username and password, after a
string of weird characters appear and I press "continue", and within few
seconds I'm connected.

I recently switched on Linux (SuSE 6.0) and I'm here to stay - that's
for sure. I tried to connect using a KDE tool, very similar to Dial Up
Networking, and I also have the option of logging onto network using a
terminal window - and everything works smoothly until I see the
characters string and I press the "continue" button. In within seconds I
get a message saying that "The pppd daemon ended unexpectedly" and I'm
disconnected. Can you help me by telling what I should do?
I'm not afraid to learn how to edit configuration files, so if you think
I should'n use the KDE "dial up" environment and if you could suggest me
an alternative way, I'm also very interested. Thank you very much.

Dan
