[SuSE Linux] gpm can't find serial port

SuSE seemed to install OK, except that when booting there are
messages saying cua[0-15] cannot be found. Yast setup seems to
go OK re: mouse, but sax config doesn't do anything to make the
mouse work.

After trying to mknod cua0 (4,64 perhaps, been a few days ago),
or link mouse to ttyS0 and other odds and ends, nothing works.
Manual start of gpm, no matter what options, etc., goes nowhere.

However, exact same setup works on Debian 2.0 installation. Same
gpm options (-t ms -m /dev/ttyS0). Sax did a better job of figuring
out the video card, and everything looks like it'll work, but no
Xserver since mouse isn't there.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Michael
