I've currently got a number of OSes (admittedly, most of which are M$)
booting from the NT boot menu, including SuSE 6.
The thing is, you need at least a small FAT16 partition as the active
primary partition on the first hard disk. On the assumption that is the
case, install your OSes wherever you want them.
I have
/dev/hda1 Bootable 30Mb partition
/dev/hda5 NTFS - NT Workstation 4
/dev/hda6 NTFS - NT Server 4
/dev/hda7 NTFS - NT Server 4 data
/dev/hdb1 Ext2 - Linux
/dev/hdb2 Swap - Linux
/dev/hdc1 FAT32 - Win98
This looks very nice, very maintainable.
Under which OS did you partition the drives? Once I've made any
DOS partitions with Linux (and it's a long story why I had to) first, NT
Workstation (I don't have Server) refuses to install to them, or even
repartition them. This is probably a NT problem, but I'd like to know
if it's possible to install NT over partitions created in SuSE6.0.
Best,
jim bennett
