Yes, this is some kind of gateway. Most commonly, this is called an
"ISDN
router" and it is of course possible with Linux.

No, theses to services are not used for this functionality. What you
will
need is IP masquerading. The relevant variables can be found in
/etc/rc.config (they begin with MSQ_). Make sure that they are set up
correctly. The manual should give you further instructions.

Just use the Linux Server as your default gateway in your TCP/IP
configuration and make sure, that your Provider's Nameserver is set up
correctly in the DNS setup.
