Your not alone!. I purchased the 5.2 distribution nearly 3 months
ago, and finally
received a replacement cdrom #1( they mailed version 5.3) and I ended
up wasting
a day installing and reinstalling manually from #2 and #3,
The problem seems to be with the low quality of the cdroms - the
directories are
readable, but the files are NOT. After 4 reinstalls - my system while
booting up
can't find 'cat'.
Just my 2 cents.
