I would definitely like to see agent for X. I wrote to Forte earlier
this year (I make a point of badgering companies for Linux versions of
software I like), just as I was preparing to install Linux and asked
about this, but got a negative reply.
There is a fair number of good mail-readers for Linux, but off-line
news-readers that are easy to install as well as good are hard to find.

A matter of taste and tradition I suppose, I always thought agent was
just what I wanted. Of course, I've just about given up on usenet now,
too much noise.

One can dream. In an ideal world (my ideal anyway) the kde and gnome
teams collaborate to make something like agent.
