Maybe  a better ppp-howto is needed. One written by someone with a bird's
eye view from the perspective of what makes it so hard for new users.
Something based on experience with such issues. Another idea is to write to the ppp-how-to author/maintainer and make
suggestions based on what you know of of how the how-to could better
server new users and make internet connectivity easier. Maybe it could
include information references on alternatives to setting up chat etc like
wvdial, xisp, pap-ppp-setup etc. Just an idea.
