I think the majority of Linux users first came to Linux because
Micro$ofts greed screwed them over royal at least once -- for me it
was two weeks spent about 4-5 years ago upgrading my 386sx16 to give
to my nephew. Everytime I got it fully upgraded using floppys:
Dos 5.0->Dos 6.?, Win3.0->Win3.1->WfWG3.11 and installation of Works
omething would wipe the harddisk and I would have to start over
again. It turned out to be an incompatability between the Cyrix math
coprocessor I installed and the motherboard --- but the point was that
since I had bought the upgrade versions of the packages, M$ made me
start over from the beginning every single time! (I have since
rescued the 386sx16 from my nephews barn and it is running as a Linux
based X-terminal as I speak BTW.)
bash bash bash BASH ----- INDEED!
