Johannes,

To my astonishment I have 5.3 parallelized on my twin LVD-Ultra2 disks. I can
tell you it's a spectacle. Worth the trouble.

All I did was download the latest aic7890 boot image from the suse FTP site.
Installation was no problem (once I realized I had a misbehaving cable). But if
you want to do things like configure a kernel and boot, you apparently have to
patch the kernel source. So I downloaded aic7xxx-5.1.0-2.0.35.patch from
ftp.dialnet.net/pub/linux/aic7xxx/testing/, and put it in /usr/src. Just say:

patch -p0 < aic7xxx-5.1.0-2.0.35.patch

Cheers,

Bob
