[SuSE Linux] Kerneld crash

I've just rebuilt my kernel. It boots fine, but about one minute after
logging in kerneld crashes (there's a register dump on the screen). This
seems fairly consistent, and has happened so far when I've been running yast
(this may be coincident as I've been running yast a lot). I did do a "make
modules" and "make modules_install" after the kernel build.
What is the best way to go about finding out what is causing this?
Thanks,
Keith
