[SuSE Linux] To Inet via ISDN router vs. Direct Connection

Hi!
I connect to Internet via a Zyxel Prestige 100 ISDN router, and have got
it to work to go from my SuSE 5.3 installation. But sometimes it
connects and then disconnect after about 5 sec. and I kind of have to
start all over agin to make it connect, closing and reopen the window
(KDE), to click on a link etc. In Win98 this never happens. Also noticed
that pages open much faster in Win98 then in Linux KDE (from SuSE 5.3
CD). Any input?
Also I wonder what actually differ as if I had a direct connection to
Internet (if any) via a gateway/router, besides that the ISDN router
makes a call to connect. The reason for this is that I plan to later set
up a direct connection and like to make the later switch as painless as
possible, like building a structure already now that I can continue to
use... besides changes of IP adresses. I'm fairly new to Linux but done
quite some networking with NT4/win95-98, but will now trash my NT4
server in favour of Linux. Will keep some win98 clients though for
certain reasons.
Even if it so far seams to be a bit slower to connect via Linux (may
just be of KDE), its a great feeling get there that way.
Any answers would be appreciated, thX-Mozilla-Status: 0009rom - Wed Nov 11 04:58:20 1998

I am and been so busy with Linux that I havn't putted so much attention to
Warez the last days, but I think I got the missing files in a dl from
chichi's the other day. Thank you anyway... wasn't sure if was going to
repost those files as I asked you.
Finaly made it to connect to Internet from Linux today... feels great and
well, it looks almost the same as from Win98 but anyway it feels much
better. A lot of new things to learn though... like setting up a DNS server
was quite something... but I guess thats mostly because one is so used to
just point and click. But once getting into it, it is a great feeling, just
to experience the multitasking and get rid of the fear that the whole thing
may crash if I start an other thing...
Have access to my box now via telnet, so ftp should soon be up I hope. It's
most important for me to get my web domains up first though... before the
memory of them vanish...
tying in tuch,
