You might take a look at x-win32 available free at www.starnet.com. The demo
version limits your connection to two hours at a time, but this is no real
hardship as you can reconnect.

I used it extensively to work on a Sun server from my home pc before I got SuSE
linux. The configuration is really easy; no need to run xhost +IP or setenv.
