Modems in linux don't use drivers as such. You need to compile tcp/ip
into your kernel, have pppd installed, and have functioning ppp
scripts. Internal modems sometimes require initialization through
isapnp, external modems generally work, and winmodems are paperweights,
but you don't need drivers for your modem, that is handled by the kernel
and pppd.
