Cdesim is an fvwm hack.  Everyone I talk to that tried the real cde
hated it.  Kde is a desktop environment,  gnome will be an environment
similar to kde sans proprietary windowmanager.  WindowMaker is a
windowmanager.  Your best bet is to download WindowMaker-0.14.1 (the
last stable release) and try it.  It's only around 500-600k.  Kde comes
with SuSE, as does cdesim.  Everyone likes different stuff, my nirvana
may be your purgatory, so try everything.
