Trying to kill the keyboard, arnulf@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx produced:

Did you know that '§' (the Paragraph-sign) is the same as ''', if you
strip the hi-bit (the highest one of the 8)?
Now, I am no expert, but something in this direction is bound to be
broken or misconfigured ...

Why not ... ?
... use rm -i ?rest_of_filename
