After throwing up my hands at Red Hat 5 (CD didn't have the drivers to
recognize the AIC-7895 on this motherboard), I have ordered the latest SuSE
distribution with high hopes. Here is the setup:

Intel DK440LX, 9 GB SCSI hard disc, SCSI CD-ROM drive

The first 4 GB of the drive are currently an NTFS partition on which I have
installed Windows NT. The rest of the disc is where I plan to install Linux.
I have a few questions before I dive into this...

Can anyone tell me with certainty if the 5.2 distribution will recognize my
SCSI controller? Will I be able to boot from the CD to install?

Will the kernel that ships with 5.2 mount an NTFS partition? I'd really
perfer not to create any extraneous FAT partition just to get the thing
working right--will I be able to avoid that? What sort of incantations will
I have to perform to get multiple boot between the two OSes working?

I'm also using a Permedia2-based graphics card (this is another thing that
pushed me toward SuSE)... Anything I should know about setting up the X
server for this board (specifically, it's a Hercules Dynamite 3D/GL)?
