I hope you all don't mind my talking to myself here.

I did find that the problem was the mouse I was using. The
libc.so.5.4.44 didn't fix it. There is a patch out on Star Division's
page that I would like to try, if I could only figure out how to get
my Intellimouse back in the system :-(

The reason I am posting this here is because it may help a S.u.S.E
user avoid the same pain that I am going through. I started another
thread about my rodent woes that has a more relevant
title.

BTW, Star Office is looking really good now that it is reasonably
stable. Lots of cool features. When they get it SSL enabled for
client side certificate authentication I will never need another
office suite. I have had a couple of 'controlled' crashes in which
all my data was recovered. Not sure what's up with that.
