Correct me if I'm wrong , but I think you can do this in yast, try this
before you say it can't, just to make sure I understand your questions.
It's not obvious until you actually press F6.
yast
--> system administration
--> network configuration
--> network base configuration
--> Now, HIT F6 for IP address and there's a field
for the gateway.
Is this what you wanted?
