Dear listmembers, dear Stefan, this bug has definitively been introduced with the ATI-Release from January, 16th. The release before is functional as expected - well, two issues here: 1.) one must not try to change configuration even if sax2 asks you for/offers it to you. Doing so (i. e. trying to change configuration) results in a black screen you can only get rid of via a reboot (here!), 2.) the (still persistent) mutex error: [fglrx:firegl_free_mutex] *ERROR* mutex id 0x00000002 not found in mutex list [fglrx:firegl_free_mutex] *ERROR* mutex id 0x00000004 not found in mutex list [fglrx:firegl_free_mutex] *ERROR* mutex id 0x00000006 not found in mutex list So, what regards my AGP-card (RX2600Pro from MSI) the following summary can be drawn: - 8.43: crashes & freezes the system - 8.443: does work (except the comments as depicted above) - 8.45.4: does work (except the BusID issue and the free_mutex issues ....) So, given you have deep enough knowledge you may manage to get the driver working :-( And, finally: anything that depends on YUY2 support (i.e. tvtime) does not work as YUY2 is currently not supported from ATI. Thank you for looking into this, take care Dieter Jurzitza -- ----------------------------------------------------------- | \ /\_/\ | | ~x~ |/-----\ / \ /- \_/ ^^__ _ / _ ____ / <°°__ \- \_/ | |/ | | || || _| _| _| _| if you really want to see the pictures above - use some font with constant spacing like courier! :-) -----------------------------------------------------------Am Freitag, 18. The solution is _very_ simple: comment out the line "BusID" and everything (besides the good old mutex-errors) seems fine, 3D is functional.
Sounds weird. Is this a new bug introduced with 8.45?
Best regards, Stefan
