Absolutely. Content is the keystone to SEO. Meta data is nice, but it's really an extra. Crosslinks from external sites help too. The other thing is, there's no point in working on SEO for things that are already ranking well. So we'll need to go through and identify the key areas where search engine ranking is lacking (basically brainstorm a list of topics and google them, works for me!) and then tweak existing pages, plus get our bloggers to write and link to those. It's summer holidays + Christmas holidays here right now, but I'll be happy to take a look at this soon, if nobody else is running with it, and if people feel it's worth putting some effort into. I think it would be a reasonable aim to identify a few of our strongest areas, like those you've mentioned, and ensure that people searching generally for those will find an opesuse solution for their needs. cheers Helen
Would
- using and describing the the keywords in the article - adding some redirects - adding some more/better categories - write some defining and theme orientated articles on things people would search for like articles on "Email", "Server", "password manager" etc.
not work as good as for search engine optimization and for the real users that are using the build in search engine of the wiki and are searching for content?
