Is imagewriter supposed to be used with .iso images? If yes there is a bug.
Yes and no. It will work with hybrid ISO images, which are what most LiveCDs are, including OpenSUSE's. It will not work with standard ISO images, like distribution DVDs or ISOs created with SUSE Studio. Think of it more as a safe dd(1) with a progress bar :-) [...] So it should work with live *CD*s on Microsoft Windows 7?
But what about: http://en.opensuse.org/index.php?title=SDB:Live_USB_stick&diff=next&oldid=25132 and https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=634956 ? Sorry, I have not any Win7 so I am not able to confirm one or the other. But maybe there could be separate wiki articles (1) on the openSUSE imagewriter packet/program and (2) on the making of a live USB or at least an install USB for using the imagewriter to install openSUSE to keep that trouble a bit out of the (3) article on "USB live stick" ? puzzled pistazienfresser -- - openSUSE 11.2 with GNOME 2.28.2 (or KDE 4.3.5) and Kernel Linux 2.6.31.14-0.1-desktop (or ~pae, ~default, Ubuntu 10.4 LTS 'lucid' 2.6.33-24-genetic, MS Win XP) - Samsung X20 Pentium M 740 (1730 MHz) Intel 915GM 1400x1050 - openSUSE profile: https://users.opensuse.org/show/pistazienfresser -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org
