hello everyone,
I have been reviewing a section of the wiki that covers VMWare and OpenSUSE which has several outdated pages, specifically the page that covers installing OpenSUSE 9.1 as a guest system on VMWare. If it is ok, I would like to go ahead and begin work on this section and see what I can do to update the pages. Also, if I can go ahead and work on this section, should we keep the older guides on how to install the older systems or just delete them and create a new one?
Thanks!
Jon
Here is newer article http://en.opensuse.org/Setting_up_VMware_Workstation that is also mrked as outdated :-)
I don't see the out date mark and it isn't very outdated I think... I started the article myself and tested it with both 11.0 and 11.1 ;-)
The older can be linked from section See Also of new article, like:
== See Also == * [[Installing_SUSE_Linux_9.1_as_a_VMware_guest]] for older versions of VMware and openSUSE * ...
That is really outdated. Why don't we delete it? It comes up as the first result if you look for "openSUSE" and "VMware" on Google. So it could be a mess for anyone who tries to install VMware following those instructions.
or using top menu like in http://en.opensuse.org/Download that will link other articles on topic VMware.
or using category http://en.opensuse.org/Category:VMware where you can add subcategories "Older SUSE" versions, and "Older VMware" versions, or by "VMware Host" and "VMware Guest". How exactly to shape subcategories is up to you. Nice with categories is that they maintain themselves once it is put in article, and you can list one article in multiple subcategories.
