The idea behind all this was that the current module should fit for non-technical users and users with a low experience.
how will these users cope with not recognised cards? If we need to ask them to use a CLI, they will use an other distro...
I was assured by our technicans that this event will occur very rarley and that there are some technical solutions to provide a network card for the user even if it is a new model. And I trust them in this issue :-)
there should be at least a "manual" tag, allowing to try manually the various modules just in case the wrong one is automatically choosen.
They can change the driver in the "hardware" tab when they edit the network cards.
openSUSE should not be "the distro only for Linux certified hardware"... :-((
No, I agree completely with you on that. We should be the most amazing linux around :-) Cu, Martin -- Martin Schmidkunz User Experience Specialist martin.schmidkunz@novell.com +49 (0) 911 740 53-346 ------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) ------------------------------------- Novell, Inc.
