It's more the other way around ;) 'pt' (first part of the locale
setting) is the ISO639 language code, and PT is the country code (second
part, traditionally written in upper-cased letters).
For Portuguese translations, always use the plain 'pt' infix. pt_PT is
not wrong, but on Linux we usually have .pt.po files only.
