Hi mesmero,
we're glad you want to help us, since I'm not sure if Karl, our team
coordinator is online today, let me give you a short introduction.
1.) You need a Novell account
Got one.
2.) I hope you're familiar with subversion? If not just ask.
I am not familiar with subversion, i take a look on it.
To get the files we're translation you gotta check them out:
svn checkout https://forgesvn1.novell.com/svn/suse-i18n/trunk/yast/de
yast
svn checkout https://forgesvn1.novell.com/svn/suse-i18n/trunk/lcn/de lcn
will do the job
Ok.
I don't know how experienced you're with SVN, so maybe you
wanna create a folder called SVN in your home directory.
I created a SVN folder in my home directory.
3.) The German translation team is using a Wikipage[0] to coordinate who is
working on which file.(You need to be logged into your Novelle account)
Please write your name behind the files you're translation.(before you
actually begin to translate them - so we can prevent double-work)
What is a Wikipage[0]?
4.) Use your favourite Po-editing programm to translate them(e.g. poEdit or
Kbabel, etc.)
I have no favourite po-editing programme. I will try poedit at first.
5.) Afte you've finished a file you can commit it via 'svn ci' you may be
asked for a password and a login: It's your novelle account.
Ok.
6.) If you've further questions, or are unsure with something: Just ask :)
Ok, did it already.
And here's an additional very Interesting Guid on the SuSE site[1].
