2008/4/10, Miguel Angel Alvarez:

He visto traducido propietary (aplicado a software) por patentado, lo que es
patentemente incorrecto. Propongo añadir al glosario
propiertary -> privativo

Hum, la wiki redirige "propietary" (sin la r) a "proprietary" :-?

Y Novell iTerm lo traduce como:

***
proprietary: patentado(a); propietario (a); registrado (a)

Interfaces that are developed by and controlled by a given company and
have not been made freely available for adoption by the industry.
Proprietary software uses non-public interfaces or formats. When an
interface is non-public, the owner of the proprietary interface
controls the it, including when and how the interface changes, who can
adopt it, and how it is to be adopted.
***

Si significan lo mismo ("propiertary" / "propietary" / "proprietary"),
me gusta más "software propietario". Pero si tienen significados
distintos, pues no sé...

Saludos,
