Will there be updates to kernel 2.6.13 for recent and older (till 9.0) distributions?
For sure: no. If a distribution is delivered e.g. with 2.6.5 (like SuSE 9.1) SuSE will keep that kernel for the lifetime of this distribution. Security patches are backpatched to this version it necessary. That's the only way to keep a distribution stable. Note that e.g. upgrading from a 2.6.5 kernel to 2.6.13 breaks almost everything like hotplug/usb, Ati and nvidia cards etc. Upgrading all the depending packages would be such a huge amount of work that no one wants to do that. Doing so would most likely turn SuSE 9.1 into opensuse 10b3 :-) (I'm not sure about 9.3, if it is kernel 2.6.11 or was 2.6.13 already...). cu, Frank -- Dipl.-Inform.
