Hi,
This is not specific to this kernel or even the Adaptec controller or driver. We have a few of these drives (RM8000) attached to Adaptec and LSI logic controllers and have seen occasional SCSI hangs on a variety of kernels.
I'd make sure you have the latest firmware installed on the RAID box and give Promise a call (not that it did us much good).

I have installed the last firmware and it does not solve the problem, I have exactly this hardware promise ultratrak100 TX4 and adaptec 2940UW I think the problem is with this combination of hardware because with other it works fine any idea Thanks
Hello,
I have Suse 9.1 kernel 2.6.4-52-smp installed on a machine with a PROMISE RAID with an adaptec controller and when I write a lot of files to this disk the systems hangs. I have read that there is problems with the aic7xxx driver , is it true? and if so, how can I solve this problem
Thanks
