I don't know the difference /etc/pam.d/passwd and the "password" of each file in /etc/pam.d/sshd, /etc/pam.d/login..etc

/etc/pam.d/passwd is the configuration for the "passwd" program you use to set new passwords. The "password" line in the other configuration files chooses the pam-module and the requirements, i.e. "password required pam_unix2.so" means pam uses the unix2.so lib from /lib/security and this check must not fail.
