Hi Martin !
I checked the "smbfs" script and now I'm wondering why it doesn't call the /etc/rc.status script in the beginning like the other scripts in /etc/rc.d/ And "rc.status" is where "rc_exit" is defined :-(
I just checked the SuSE 7.2 update: it has the same problem. Moreover, the previous update (smbclnt-2.2.0a-45) had it, too.
But I think this is more of a cosmetic issue: "smbfs start" is just a dummy anyway (at least on SuSE 7.2), so the missing return status doesn't change anything... Similar with "smbfs stop": it unmounts the filesystems but it ignores any errors.
--> It just produces ugly red "failed" messages during boot and shutdown. As long as I know where they come from, I don't really care but I like to watch for only green "done" messages to check that my system is (still) configured correctly. Armin
