what can I add to my SuSEFirewall config so that I can skip logging these messages (i.e. ignore any 224.0.0.1 messages )?
See the very end of /etc/sysconfig/SuSEfirewall2 (FW_CUSTOMRULES) OK, I have the following set in section 25 : FW_CUSTOMRULES="/etc/sysconfig/SuSEfirewall2-custom"
and /etc/sysconfig/scripts/SuSEfirewall2-custom (here the first option) And the contents of /etc/sysconfig/SuSEfirewall2-custom is the line: iptables -A INPUT -j ACCEPT -d 224.0.0.0/24 Is this correct ? Almost, change like this : iptables -A INPUT -d 224.0.0.0/24 -j DROP That will just drop the packets.
