Although one could consider calling ::someone a "bastard" as rude. :: ::We have no problem answering simple questions and do not ::think there is such a thing as a stupid question; only lazy people. ::The question just could have been "I tried this and only got that", or ::"where actually is this generated". If someone wants to have his system ::done for him, he can just hire someone. Lets hope the nature of lists ::like these remain a bit more elevated and stimulating than that. Well, sorry about that response but the attitude that was displayed was that of "OH MY God! You are so stupid that you couldn't figure out Google!" "Why don't you RTFM before bringing your petty, very easy questions to this list." My question would be how does one tell the difference between lazy and just a bit freaked out about the overwhelming nature of being a newbie. I guess my horrors in joining the club and learning these things made me give everyone the benefit of the doubt and not have a "Oh My how simple..just do this." attitude. Sorry that my tired, cranky attitude at 1am got the better of me. It's just that when I started with Linux and Unix a number of years ago and I found it a bit overwhelming. Sometimes the simple route eluded me and I needed the help of people who knew more. The reply email was condescending and quite rude to the guy's question. I should have just hit the d key. I didn't and I'm sorry. I apologize. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org Tell me what you believe.. I tell you what you should see.
