If I look on my fileserver which mirrors the updates from gwdg.de for 8.0 I see lots of rpm packages containing KDE 3.0.4 but in YOU there is no KDE update, as there is no patch description file yet.
also not on ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/suse_update/8.0/patches/
I mirror the updates from ibiblio.org and it has no short symlinks to the real names either. I was under the impression that SuSE discontinued this 8.3 frontalobotomy some while ago, obviously not quite. There's no patch description there (yet). I find manually adding any new packages to a simple list and using rpm -UvhF `cat list` is very much faster and more reliable. If anyone wants the list (for 8.0) and some short scripts with it email me. YOU is wasting more time than it saves. Relieing on those patch files being present as well as accurate seems to be too dangerous to me.
