I have been instructed to setup a linux box (SuSE 8.0) to authenticate against a NT-PDC. I also need to setup shares using samba and desire to modify the ACL's using the NT-PDC.
I need to know if these features are compiled into the samba-2.2.3a package supplied with 8.0 or do I need to re-compile to add these features? I DID set up a box with SuSE 8.0 Pro sharing a directory via Samba and authenticating against an NT4-PDC and ist works... :-) I basicly used the article in the German magazine iX 4/2001 S. 148, also available online at http://www.heise.de/ix/artikel/2001/04/148/. SuSE 8.0 has a precompiled windbind-daemon and I modified the start-script /etc/init.d/smb to start also this daemon.
