sometimes "rcnscd restart" helps ;-) nscd = name service cache daemon caches login credentials from passwd file ( pam ) any many others... see /etc/nscd.conf for your config. hope it helps Walter Wilmer Geovanny wrote:

and when the password is changed by the Yast utility, everything works great.
It seems that there is some script missing to be running.
