Also notice that there are transmit errors on the interfaces. Is this normal?
The above (snipped) log entries are those transmit errors. Your "firewall" log gets all the kernel messages when kern.* -/var/log/firewall is in your /etc/syslog.conf ipchains logs as kern.info IIRC Peter
