Hi, you have to update / install the package unixODBC too. We had this discussion 2 weeks ago (topic "java2 question") Cheers, Ralf P.S.: Sorry, I sent this mail first to Bob, not to the list. Bob Vickers schrieb am 23.11.2001 um 15:41:43 zum Thema "[suse-security] java2 update":
There is a dependency problem with one of the 7.2 security fixes on the SuSE web site: java2-1.3-69.i386.rpm .
When I tried to install it with 'rpm -Fhv' it failed with:
# rpm -Fhv java2-1.3-69.i386.rpm error: failed dependencies: libodbc.so is needed by java2-1.3-69 libodbcinst.so is needed by java2-1.3-69
I couldn't work out which package provided these libraries so I tried installing it with Yast Online Update instead. This worked, though I have a suspicion it ignored the dependencies rather than resolving them.
What is the recommended way of installing this fix?
