** Only when using IE5.x without SP2 for any of the IE5.x Versions though.
** IE5.x's with their respective SP2s,
ahhhhh, it's a plot to get folks to UG(?) to IE6 <VBG> currently I
have no allowed connections to the internet from W2k desktops , that
way the darned this really IS a secure system .... ( everyone that has a
w2k desktop also has a suse7.2 partition they aAn surf and email from )
it actually has reached the point where the die hards seldom use it at
all (YAY!!!) and then only for things that don't yet have Linux filters.
** IE4 and IE6 ask the user whether he/she would like to open or execute
** the javascript which gets you your personal copy of Nimda.
** The same principal applies to your readme.exe in your mail ... IE5.x
** without SP2 simply executes, all other IE's ask. If the user now hits
** YES ... you'll end up with some major extra hours cleaning your systems.
yes, this is why no one is allowed to connect to the net from a w2k
box.. most of the died in the wool windows users ( that I know anyway)
would just click yes ... That is the way Microsoft has trained them...
along w/ that silly thing that says "always trust anything from
Microsoft automagically " Mind, you, I dont know why anyone would trust
a company that doesn't even use it's own patches to protect it's own
computers! Not even after they KNEW that the ones at Redmond had been
infiltrated , last year ... <sigh>
