I just noticed that there is no sftp binary! Tried to build from the src.rpm from ftp.suse.de which fails consistently due to some missing imake file in /var/tmp???

No, but I didn't use the SuSE rpms. I believe there were some issues with the openssh update RPMs, I don't know if this is related or that those issues have been cleared already. Of course you can always get the sources from ftp.openssh.com. cheers Stefan
