Now that the new 2.4 is out,can SuSE tell us when it will be integrated in the new SuSE?
The commercial SuSE is full of soft, but is it possible to do a little bit of clean-up?
I agree with the people writing that we don't need 1000 packages of fe intrusionsoftware but that we want the soft that really works.
There are a lot of packages out there that work. SuSE's way lets people pick their own flavour. There is nothing that forces you to install everything, but if you want it, it's there. And besides, what works for one person may be totally useless to another. I for one prefer it this way, where everything I want is there, as well as some stuff which I don't need and therefore don't install.
Here are my suggestions.
Easy setup for cable and ASDL connection.
And all the people with dial-up or network connections would be just thrilled to have their configs set-up for them as well.
Easy setup for allowing the users to connect the internet. So not only root. I did not yet find out how to do this.
Soft for IDE-CDburners...
Is included.
integration in the softpackages of PMFirewall, portsentry and Licq.Would Bastille for SuSE be a bad idea? It's included in Red Hat only, but it seems to be good.
Just as you would like these packages included, so others like the stuff that is included now. AFAIC all that SuSE should check is if the packages work. Users are perfectly capable of deciding on their use themselves. cheers Stefan
