Maybe your pointer device is sharing the interrupt with a second device? Something like that happened to me on a FreeBSD box and I got the message [...snip...] psmintr: out of sync (00c0 != 0000). [...snip..] 900 times or so. When I switched to a text terminal and back to X it disappeared. Seems to be a problem with the ps2 interrupt. (No, there is no interrupt sharing at this box.) Have a look at the log file (/var/log/messages), at /proc/interrupts and try dmesg to get some hints. IMHO that's no security problem. mfg andy -- Informationen zum oesterreichischen Usenet http://www.usenet.at/ Verein fuer Internet-BEnutzer Oesterreichs (.AT) http://www.vibe.at/ I am from Austria - but I did not vote for Joerg Haider and the FPOE.
