Hello again!
Does your "/etc/hosts" file contain an entry for the loopback device?
Yes.
For a DNS client machine using the hosts file in conjunction with a remote DNS server, your "/etc/host.conf" file should contain:
order hosts,bind multi on
and, your "/etc/resolv.conf" file should contain:
search berge.dhs.org nameserver
nameserver nameserver
