Hi Nix,
I basically need to know which file I need to edit to Stop X from listening on port 6000 in SuSE 6.4
Go to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm and edit Xservers. Change the line :0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X :0 vt07 to read :0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X :0 vt07 -nolisten tcp
Sorry to ask a newbie question, but my communication options are limited at the moment as I'm on a slow dialup in Hong Kong.
on another note, I just installed the updated version of openssh from the suse ftp server and noticed that it now supports tcp wrappers by default. Thanks guys, saved me a recompile.
openssh as well as ssh always came with tcp_wrappers support compiled in. What makes you think that this hasn't been the case?
Cheers
Nix
Thanks,
Roman.
