hi, i know there's the wrong place to put my question in, but it's very important for me to get an answer. i've a wavelan-card (lucent silver 11mbit) in my desktop-pc witch is in an isa-card. the antenne isn't connected to the card because the pc is standing in my room. the problem is, that the cardmgr produce the following lines in my messages log-file and i don't know what he want. here's the messages if i remove the card Oct 23 21:04:51 Router cardmgr[127]: shutting down socket 1 Oct 23 21:04:51 Router cardmgr[127]: executing: 'modprobe -r wavelan2_cs' he produce one beep (high) - thats mean ok - or not?! if i put the card in he make two beeps a high and a deep one Oct 23 21:04:55 Router cardmgr[127]: initializing socket 1 Oct 23 21:04:55 Router cardmgr[127]: socket 1: Lucent Technologies WaveLAN/IEEE Oct 23 21:04:55 Router cardmgr[127]: executing: 'modprobe wavelan2_cs network_name=MABI station_name=Router' Oct 23 21:04:55 Router kernel: eth2: WaveLAN/IEEE, HCF failure: "Error code 131" Oct 23 21:04:55 Router cardmgr[127]: get dev info on socket 1 failed: No such device after this the power-led is on. the reseller of the card means that the cardis now in ad-hoc mode. could the error mean the missing radio-connection? what means the Error code 131?? with the hope of friendly answers lars ---- ACCEPT LANGUAGES: ENGLISCH AND GERMAN (favourite)!! ----
