My question deals with the installation of the ypclient rpm which was recently announced to fix some security issues.
I have been applying the security updates for SuSE 6.4 as they are announced. When I attempt to apply the ypclient update, I get the error
error: failed dependencies: portmap is needed by ypclient-3.4-95
While I know what this means, I can't figure out why I am getting the error. I have the portmap program installed (/sbin/portmap), which I believe was updated by the nkitb rpm security update. I would appreciate it if someone can give me some ideas as to how I can fix this problem.

Something is wrong there. I've heard that once before, but it didn't
happen in our tests before we released the package.
Anyway, the dependencies are fulfilled since you had a working
configuration already. Install the updated package using
rpm --nodeps -Uhv ypclient*.rpm
It doesn't break anything.
